Exhibits at the event will feature artwork created by individuals aged 50 and older and will be open to the public. All forms of art are welcome, including culinary arts, ceramics, sculptures, glasswork, fiberwork (such as quilts, embroidery, and clothing), jewelry, woodwork, photography, painting, 2D art, 3D art, art history, performing arts, and liberal arts. The festival will also feature food trucks and vendors. All art pieces will be labeled with the organization’s and artist’s names. If the individual wishes to remain anonymous or if it is a HIPAA concern, only the organization’s name will be included in the display. All artworks will be exhibited inside the building, and performances will be held in the gymnasium area. All art and performance requests must be submitted before September 30 to allow setup and planning time. Your organization will be responsible for submitting the artwork and retrieving it once the festival ends. A message from our CEO – Isabella Lawson
We are so excited about this event & cannot wait to share what our community has to offer! The Oklahoma older adult population is growing, and we are here to celebrate them! Our MAPS3 Wellness Center’s mission is to provide a facility and programming that improves the physical and emotional wellness of northeast Oklahoma City Senior Adults! Art has proven to be a valuable piece to that mission, and we hope to empower older adults by allowing them to showcase their talents. We alone currently have over 2300 members & counting! Our partnering organizations will add to that number by bringing in their clients, patients, residents, and members. We look forward to this exciting opportunity! With your help, we can make this event as great as possible. Thank you for your interest & commitment to this festival. Help us celebrate creative aging & our talented senior adults!

More about the Center’s Art Feature.
Our project uses an architectural feature wall as a canvas for laser-projected motion graphics. The projected animations take viewers on a journey of discovery in the historically Black and African American East side of Oklahoma City and feature over ninety persons and locations. The base of the installation features a backlit cityscape envisioned from landmarks and homes throughout East Oklahoma City. A touchscreen allows visitors, or anyone with a smart device, to learn more about the history of the people and places featured in the project.
